The district-wide training fair „Stay here!“ took place this year on Saturday 29 October 2022 at the Viktor-Karell-Realschule in Landau and we as the VEDDER team were there with a team of seven.
I, Florian 24 years old, was also able to take part as an internship semester student! Our hard-working helpers set up the stand on Friday. On the day of the fair, we made our way to the gymnasium, where we were able to fortify ourselves with buttered pretzels before the big rush arrived. We provided information about the various apprenticeships and jobs at VEDDER. I was also able to draw on my own experience as a trained carpenter. As I am very interested in vocational training, especially in the wood sector, due to my degree programme in engineering education, I found it particularly exciting to support the trade fair visitors in their career orientation.
Our balance boards in particular, which you could assemble yourself with a few simple steps such as sanding, drilling and screwing, were really well received! Even teachers from the secondary school and other trade fair exhibitors visited us to try out the boards.
The VEDDER stand was a complete success again this time, as other exhibitors confirmed. It was a lot of fun to talk to many open-minded pupils and parents and I am convinced that some potential junior employees were discovered for an apprenticeship at VEDDER.
I'm glad that I was able to be part of this year's trade fair team, because there was no shortage of fun in the young team either!
