My name is Luisa, I'm 19 years old and I started my apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at VEDDER in Haidlfing in 2018.
After successfully passing my final examination, I was offered a permanent position in the Purchasing department. I can say that my training at VEDDER had a lasting impact on me and helped me in my personal development.
I was very shy at the beginning of my training and all the new names, information and work processes overwhelmed me here and there. However, I quickly learnt and started to make notes of all sorts of things, which enabled me to grasp things more quickly and work more independently.
As the training programme for industrial clerks is very broad, I got to know and work in several departments and I admit that it was always a bit of a challenge to adapt to the new colleagues and tasks, but at the same time you enjoy the variety and gradually notice that you become more and more self-confident.
In addition to the commercial departments such as purchasing, administration and auditing, we also have project management, where all our orders are coordinated, organised and processed. This department was by far the most difficult, but the one where I learnt the most for myself and became stronger. I realised that I can do anything I want and that I can be who I really am. There I learnt to be independent and flexible and not to let myself get rattled so quickly - because if you can't do something, it's no big deal. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone is dependent on the help of others. You definitely don't have to be afraid of any colleagues here, because we're all just people who want to make the best of things together and work hand in hand.
My new self-confidence was quickly reflected in my performance at school and at work, so I was even able to shorten my apprenticeship.
Over time, I realised how the company grew closer and closer to my heart and it almost felt like I was coming home to my second home.
In my first department, a colleague said to me: „I know it's hard to get started, but believe me, after a year you almost feel like you're part of a family in the VEDDER team.“ I couldn't do anything with this sentence back then - but today I can emphasise it 100%!
MY CONCLUSION
You grow every day, you get stronger every day and you learn something new every day. In my opinion, the VEDDER team is the best you can imagine and I am very happy to have completed this apprenticeship at VEDDER.
